Inspiring entrepreneurial stories

As Qredits Curaçao, we had the great honour to receive Minister of Economic Affairs Dirk Beljaarts and his delegation during a visit to the start-up company: SIMIA. The passionate entrepreneurs of SIMIA, together with Landish Curaçao, presented their products and services and talked about their start-up, their development and the challenges they face as entrepreneurs.

SIMIA

SIMIA is a start-up company started by four dynamic entrepreneurs who joined forces to build this business together.

Simia is a local organic tea company established since 2018. They produce three different tea flavours that are quite well-known here in Curaçao. The tea comes in tea bags, which makes brewing it much easier.
The current flavours they offer are:

  • Oregano
  • Lemongrass
  • Basil

Nowadays, SIMIA also exports their product abroad (e.g. the Netherlands).

SME Credit Guarantee Scheme (BKMB ACS)

The Subsidieregeling Borgstelling MKB-redieten Aruba, Curaçao en Sint Maarten (BMKB ACS) aims to contribute to better access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. This will promote economic growth in these three islands. Lenders in Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten licensed and experienced in providing credit and loans to SMEs in Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten can use the subsidy scheme to reduce the credit coverage gap. To this end, the lender enters into an agreement with the Dutch State.
